Pedro Sanchez says that “the PSOE is a clean organization”
Talk about a new corruption case
USPA NEWS -
The Secretary General of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) and President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, appeared before the media from the Socialist headquarter in Ferraz street of Madrid to explain the measures adopted on Monday by the Federal Executive Commission regarding transparency and the fight against corruption. "We will not cover up the corruption that arises within our ranks, no matter how painful it may be." Pedro Sánchez maintained that "the PSOE is a clean organization," and therefore, "we will stand up and act decisively."
The Socialist Secretary General announced the following measures: first, to permanently expel José Luis Ábalos from the PSOE, once the case against him is concluded. The second measure is to subject the party to a new external audit. In this regard, Sánchez asserted that "no organization would submit to an external audit that is not required by law, but we accept it as a commitment." The third initiative is the appointment of an interim team to replace the Organization Secretary until the Federal Committee meeting on July 5. This team will be led by the president of the PSOE (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party), Cristina Narbona; the secretary of Democratic Action and Transparency, Borja Cabezón; and the secretary of Labor, Social Economy, and Self-Employment, Montse Mínguez. On the technical side, this team will also include the support of the manager of the PSOE, Ana María Fuentes.
Pedro Sánchez also announced his own initiative to appear before the Congress of Deputies and the creation of a commission of inquiry to uncover the full truth of the Koldo case. This case began two years ago in the National Court. It was then called "Operation Delorme," centered around the buying and selling of face masks, and the focus was on two individuals: Koldo García and Víctor de Aldama. The latest Civil Guard report submitted to the Supreme Court paints a picture of a judicial process centered around José Luis Ábalos and Santos Cerdán, the last two PSOE secretaries of organization, allegedly implicated in collecting commissions in exchange for rigging road and rail contract contracts.
The president of the Spanish Government also announced a series of contacts with the other parliamentary groups that supported his investiture. “This Government is the work and hope of many people. It would be irresponsible to destroy everything that has been achieved.” The PSOE leader also stated that the elections will be held in 2027. “We are not going to disrupt the stability of a great country experiencing one of its best moments to place it in the hands of the worst opposition in the democratic history of our country.”
Pedro Sánchez sought to dispel any doubts and confirmed that the progressive government will continue with its roadmap and the commitments made during the investiture. "Spain deserves to move forward, not backward, with a reactionary agenda from the PP and Vox that would affect the rights of millions of men and women."
"We neither can nor want to be like those who tear their clothes in public but tolerate corruption at home. If the PP and Vox want credibility, they should start by demanding the resignation of presidents involved in corruption, irregular financing, or negligence in disaster management," such as Ayuso in Madrid, Mazón in Valencia, or Moreno Bonilla in Andalusia, Sánchez added.
Pedro Sánchez also addressed the women of this country to apologize for the sexist content of the wiretaps of the Central Operations Unit (UCO in its Spanish acronym) of the Civil Guard report. "The lack of exemplarity, vulgarity, and machismo are absolutely incompatible with the feminist values ??of the party and with our identity. They disgust us, they sadden us, and they outrage us."
