BENARD TAPIE BEACAME AN ICON IN FRANCE THANKS TO HIS BOLD AMBITION AND CHARISMA------------- Bernard Tapie’s death, leaves a great void, in France, because this self-made-man, was a character out of the ordinary as much by his personality, his innate charisma, and his great capacity succeeded, fall and straightens. Bernard Tapie had “1000 and a life” because he was, Businessman, serial entrepreneur (Acquired Adidas, Wonder, Vie Claire, a symbolic 1franc), actor, singer, sportsman, Patron of OM Marseille (Who won the Champions League in 1993), European Deputy, Minister of the City (Under the presidential mandate of Francois Mitterand), Press group boss, not to mention the passage through prison, following a judgment concerning a match-fixing match between Valenciennes and Marseille. France wants to lose one of its great icons, in the person of Bernard Tapie, who is unanimous in all social classes and ages, to represent this charismatic "Bonhomme" in the image of this cliché of "Titi Parisien », Started from scratch, from a modest background to reach the heights of glory and business success, while also assuming the falls and procedures (25 years of trial on the Credit Lyonnais affair). He had people and people returned it to him because it was sincere and it is also astonishing to note that he represents a model of modern hero, perhaps the only self-made man, the most combative, in the image of 'an American dream… but the Frenchwoman. His professional, social and popular rise is like a Hollywood movie and could have been American in his rage to win and to be proud to get wealthy…. The whole of France is moved, many celebrities from the political, cultural and sporting world have expressed their homage and condolences to his family. We publish some of these press releases in their entirety.--------------------------------------------- “Bernard Tapie is dead. Shocked by the disappearance of my friend. He was for me an example of surpassing oneself. Through this incredible strength, he gave us all an extraordinary lesson in life despite the hard work he suffered from all sides. A phoenix, like him has paid tribute so well to his daughter Sophie. There was genius in Bernard Tapie, capable of embracing, with success, all careers, all trades and a training faculty which makes the mark of great men. To Dominique his wife with whom he formed an inseparable couple, to his children Stéphane, Nathalie, Sophie, Laurent, to all his family and to all those who loved him, we send, with my wife Laura, our most sincere condolences. » Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice published as a tribute to Bernard Tapie.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “If the will were personified, it would undoubtedly take the face of Bernard Tapie. There are destinies in which each one can draw strength for himself. A thought for those close to him. "Yves Jego, Former minister of Overseas----------------------------

TRIBUTE DELIVERED BY JEAN CLAUDE GAUDIN FORMER MAYOR OF MARSEILLE----------------------------------- “With the passing of Bernard Tapie, a page in our recent local history is turning. Because this Parisian by birth had made Marseille his city of heart and had returned to our fellow citizens, with the victory of OM in the Champions League, the pride of being Marseillais in a not so distant time when confidence in our future collective was sorely missed. He was a man of passions, just like our city. With time erasing all traces of clashes, I remember Bernard Tapie as a man of many talents whom he combined in the field of sport as well as in business, cinema or theater. For several years, Bernard Tapie commanded admiration by the courage with which he faced the disease and by the energy that this outstanding communicator transmitted to those who also suffered from it. I offer my most sincere and saddened condolences to his wife, his children and all their families. » Jean Claude Gaudin, Former Mayor of Marseille declared about Bernard Tapie, who failed in being elected Mayor fo Marseille. “No one could remain indifferent to the man, his energy and his outspokenness. Bernard Tapie has lived a thousand lives. Football lover, committed to Marseille, leader of men, self-made-man, I keep the image of a fierce fighter. Thoughts of his loved ones. »Xavier Bertrand President of the Hauts de France Region, candidate for French Presidential Elections 2022, said about Bernard Tapie.

TRIBUTE DELIVERED BY JACK LANG PRESIDENT OF THE ARAB WORLD INSTITUTE --------------------------------- Jack Lang, former French Minister fo culture, and currently President of the World Arab Institute, in Paris, paid a string tribute to Bernard Tapie. "Singer, racing driver, entrepreneur, boss of the Olympique de Marseille, minister, Bernard Tapie was an incredible man-orchestra. Very early on, an extraordinary destiny emerges. His impressive journey of life resembled a fabulous Prevert-style inventory. What he loved most of all was taking risks and challenging himself all the time. Intrepid and determined, Bernard Tapie takes over Olympique de Marseille. With incomparable flair, he identifies and hires promising young talents: Eric Cantona, Didier Deschamps, Basile Boli, Fabien Barthez, Jean-Pierre Papin whom he will introduce to the taste of success and victory.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Despite the obstacles and resounding setbacks, nothing stops or resists Bernard Tapie. His obsession will always be to look ahead. Earthy character, a bit picaresque, when he falls, he always gets up with a disconcerting force. I got to know him especially well when President François Mitterrand appointed him minister. I loved chatting with this man with the legendary profanity, and the voice of a stentor, mocking but so real. He was said to be "loudly", yet he was tender. We don't know enough about it, but he was a sincere and civically committed person. At the Ministry of the City, of which he had too little time in charge, he wanted, in his own way, to overturn the table. He was thought to be mercantile when he was generosity itself. Bernard Tapie was above all a permanent, inflexible and uncompromising fighter against the National Front. He spoke loud and clear to defend his convictions.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bernard Tapie certainly had a divisive personality. Either he annoyed or we admired him. But what he loved most of all was helping those in need. Transmitting his energy and turning things upside down were his favorite creeds. He was a citizen of a thousand lives.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bernard Tapie will have been a joyful and so sad saga at the same time. In adversity and in the face of disease, he will have faced courageously. As usual, like a roaring lion, he will say No to pain, No to fate. How not to be amazed and moved by this conviction so deep when, very weakened, he continued to talk about the evil that was gnawing at him in order to better help those who were enduring the same sufferings. Bernard Tapie was and will remain a fanatic of life. Today, I have a special thought for his wife and children to whom I extend my deepest condolences. » Jack Lang, President of World Arab Institute
